Most people were stunned silent when I departed from my 15-year career in East Asian cultural research to stay home with my growing family a few years ago. I had no idea that in doing so, I was embarking on a journey that would transform my passion for paper into a viable online business, CinnamonSpice Papercrafts. Taking advantage of the opportunity to create for others, without having to leave my family has given me a new lease on life!
A Helping Hand. Upon opening my Etsy shop and entering the world of indie artists, I immediately fell in love with the independent handmade movement. Shortly after I began blogging, I decided to dedicate this blog to promoting other artisans, primarily my fellow Etsy sellers. I enjoy showcasing the wonderful handmade gift items from members of my EtsyMoms, North Carolina (NC)Triangle and Creative Paper Artists Street Teams.
My Creative Journey. More recently, I've been doing quite a bit of soul searching in answer to that age-old question of how to achieve that harmonious balance between family and work. I realized that for me it's going to be about simplifying my life, breaking my addictions to "busyness" and material things and filtering out the background "noise" that has so often disrupted my focus on my family and my work. So, join me as I step out on faith and try new things to make my life and hopefully yours too, a richer, sweeter experience!
